The Price of IPTV, and How to Pay for a Plan on Someone Else’s TV

The rest of this page is written for a particular kind of buyer: the one who pays for the television but is not the one watching it.

Plenty of IPTV is ordered on one phone and watched on a screen somewhere else. A daughter pays for the set in her father’s living room. A partner keeps track of every subscription in the house. Only two things change the price

The length you pay for

Longer terms cost less per month. For a television in someone else’s home they carry a second benefit that is easy to overlook: fewer end dates. Each end date is a day when the screen stops until somebody renews, and the person watching may not know what the message on the screen means. One renewal a year is one interruption to plan around instead of twelve.

How many streams can run together

This is the figure people misread. A stream is one picture playing. The login can be installed on as many devices as you like, the living-room TV, a tablet, your own phone for testing, and a one-stream plan works on every one of them; it simply plays on one at a time. If your mum watches a film in the living room while your dad has the news on in the bedroom, that is two streams, and on a one-stream plan the second screen will not play until the first stops. The three- and five-stream plans are for larger households. Notice that word, household. The terms allow one account per home, and the rule matters the moment you think about sharing, so it has its own section below.

What the price leaves out, on purpose

• No contract. You pay for a term, and the term ends.
• No automatic renewal. Nothing is charged again unless you order again.
• No card kept on file. The payment options for your country are listed in the chat when you order. Card numbers should never be typed into a chat window, ours included.
• No setup or activation fee. The login arrives in the chat, usually in under 15 minutes, and that is the whole delivery.
• No hardware. SWIVTV does not sell or rent a box. The plan runs on a device the home already has, or on one you buy from an ordinary shop.

The terms of service allow one account per household. If your mother lives in her own house, she needs her own plan, even though you already pay for one in yours. Putting her TV on your login is not a saving: it sits outside the terms and puts at risk the account you both depend on. Two homes means two plans, and a one-stream year for her is $69.

The renewal date belongs to you

Nothing renews by itself, so a plan simply stops on its last day. When a term ends, a reminder arrives on WhatsApp in the chat that placed the order, which is yours. Write the date into your own calendar as well, a week early, so the renewal never catches either of you out.
